Bridle and bit fitting
Finding the right bit is not always a quick job. Unfortunately there is no such thing as a ‘magic bit’ that resolves every issue for every horse. Each horse is different in their conformation, behaviour, personality and way of going under saddle.
These all need to be taken into account and worked with to find that perfect bit that suits your horse, your riding level and discipline. A bit that doesn’t fit properly or causes discomfort will only weaken your communication and subsequently affect your horse’s welfare. The bit is just as important as having a well fitted saddle; you wouldn’t expect your horse to perform well if the saddle is causing it pain! Yet often the importance of the bit gets overlooked, or the wrong design is chosen and the horse is expected to carry on. Having a bit that your horse is comfortable with allows them to listen to your cues as a rider and together your riding relationship will flourish.

Animal Behaviour consultations
These sessions are for owners experiencing difficult or severe behavioural problems with their pets, such as aggression or separation anxiety. Sometimes you may be unsure what the problem is or maybe there are several behaviours that are getting worse and you are not sure what the cause is. If a behaviour is becoming dangerous, affecting your daily life or you are struggling to cope, contact me to discuss any problems you’re having and together we’ll work on a solution.
I often work closely with vets and other professionals to find the right solution for an animal and sometimes I will ask that your animal has a full check up by your vet to ensure there is no underlying medical cause for the behaviour.
